The sculpture by Wellington-based artist Regan Gentry, entitled Flour Power, is the first new public sculpture to be commissioned by the Christchurch City Council’s Public Art Advisory Group. Funding for the 13-metre high work has been made available from the Council’s recently reinstated Art in Public Places Fund and a substantial donation from the estate of the late Sir Robertson Stewart and Adrienne, Lady Stewart.

Aranui High School presents a parody of Shakespearean proportions: Scots on the Rocks is a riotous take of William Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Another ‘must see’ production at Aranui High School 13-16 August 7.30pm who are renowned for their lively renditions of Shakespeare's plays.

Christchurch City Council has purchased five properties from property developer David Henderson. Christchurch Mayor Bob Parker says all five sites are extremely desirable and key to the success of the Council’s and the Greater Christchurch Urban Development Strategy’s (UDS) plans for urban intensification.
