The Christchurch Council’s planned Graffiti Office has been granted $375,000 in Government funding, to be spread over the next three years.The office will focus on education, restoration and prevention and is expected to be up and running by October.

Two Canterbury students Ben McNab (Rangiora High School) and Louis O’Brien (St Thomas of Canterbury) were in the New Zealand Global Enterprise Challenge team which won the annual international competition.Late Monday afternoon students from 15 countries submitted a three-minute video presentation and written business plans via web-link to a panel of international judges based around the world, to compete for the right to win first place in this year’s Global Enterprise Challenge.

A leading New Zealand electricity generator, Mighty River Power Ltd has signed agreements to purchase a 19.95% cornerstone shareholding in the rapidly developing Christchurch listed technology company Windflow Technology Ltd.The placement is subject to shareholder approval and is expected to raise in excess of $7 million and is based on the expected shareholder capital post the upcoming options exercise in September 2008.
