Civic Awards will be presented to 15 community minded individuals by the Christchurch Mayor Bob Parker next Tuesday November 25 2008. The awards recognise people from a wide cross section of the community, whose actions have helped make Christchurch a better place to live.

The community spirit will be enhanced in Christchurch’s eastern suburbs starting November 29 when the Carols in your Community series of small local events is launched.Carols in your Community will offer various Christmas activities in local parks, reserves, shopping malls and churches, around Burwood, New Brighton, Northshore, Parklands/Queenspark, and Dallington all the way up to Christmas Eve.
